Names of wild animals in the Azerbaijani language

In this lesson we will talk about the names of wild animals in the Azerbaijani language. Of course, many of these wild animals are not found in Azerbaijan. However, this does not mean that we do not learn new words in the Azerbaijani language on the topic of wild animals. We need to know at least the names of the most famous wild animals in the Azerbaijani language. In our last lesson, we learned new words in Azerbaijani language on the topic of Domestic animals in Azerbaijani. At the same time, it would be advisable for you to study the topics of marine animals in the Azerbaijani language and birds in the Azerbaijani language. After learning these topics, you will not have any unclear moments when talking about wild animals in the Azerbaijani language, whether what are guides explaining in Azerbaijani zoos or with any Azerbaijani interlocutor. By the way, you can watch various programs about wild animals in the Azerbaijani language. This can be a great way to both increase your worldview and learn the Azerbaijani language.

As in English, the features of animals are adapted to humans in Azerbaijani. In some cases, we can say that a person has the strength and endurance of a horse, this comparison is similar in Azerbaijani and English. For example:
"Eldar at kimi güclü idi və asanlıqla iyirmi kilometr piyada gedə bilirdi." - Eldar was strong as a horse and he could easily make twenty kilometers on foot.

On the other hand, we must take into account our differences in mentality when learning the Azerbaijani language. Thus, although the bearers of both languages can compare endurance and strength with a horse, but some such comparisons can be misunderstood, misinterpreted, or even insulted in terms of mental values, worldviews, and other aspects. For example, when compared to wild animals, this can be clearly seen in the example of the wolf and the monkey. Azerbaijanis are appreciate of wolves as tricky and scary animal, and in some cases they may even hate this animal. However, Azerbaijanis never consider this wild animal to be foolish. Because the wolf is not a stupid animal. However, in English, this animal can be compared to any foolish person. But in Azerbaijani you can't say:
"Mamed canavar kimi ağılsızdır." - Mamed is as stupid as a wolf.
Such a comparison in the Azerbaijani language would be correct if you use the word sheep instead:
"Mamed qoyun kimi ağılsızdır." - Mamed is as stupid as a sheep.
The attitude of Azerbaijanis and English-speaking people towards monkeys is even more interesting. If we say that a person is as intelligent as a monkey in the Azerbaijani language, he will probably consider it an insult, but for English-speaking people this is the greatest privilege. So, a comparison in the Azerbaijani language would be not correct if you say:
"Leyla məktəbini fərqlənmə diplomu ilə bitirdi - o, meymun qədər ağıllıdır. " - Leyla has finished her school with honors – she’s as clever as a monkey.
